The Putnam County Fire Service was established in 1986 to improve and preserve fire protection throughout the county. Today, eight volunteer fire departments respond to nearly 4,000 calls annually, including structure fires, medical emergencies, rescues, and hazardous materials incidents.
Comprised primarily of dedicated volunteers, our firefighters selflessly give their time and energy\u2014without compensation\u2014to protect their neighbors and communities. The Fire Service works closely with these departments to ensure effective emergency response, minimize homeowner insurance costs, and provide essential services countywide.<\/p>\n
