It is the mission and goal of the Putnam County Fire Service to protect life and property. Putnam County, WV, is predominantly a volunteer fire service. This means the men and women who train regularly, have careers and jobs outside of the Fire Service, give up time with family, children, and friends, and do so unselfishly and without pay or compensation. They are citizens of this county who donate their time, effort, and abilities to help protect our county.

I would be interested in it. Its a good change for Putnam County. A growing area with new challenges and an opertunity to provide a more efficient service to the Citizens who reside there.
To all of you commenting negatively regarding the pay - 1) you're right. It's low... but it's congruent with other WV paid fire positions 2) this should stand as proof that Professional Firefighters are grossly undervalued and underappreciated in this area 3) While there may not be hundreds of applicants for this position, I expect there will be several qualified candidates toss their hat in the ring It's a good job, a great opportunity to grow and build upon. I'm excited to see Putnam County embracing full time staffing and offering better services to the citizens.
Shouldn't retirement be paid into MPFRS since they are not EMS
