Sheriff Eggleton and the members of the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office would like to give a quick “mic click” to our dispatchers. We appreciate and recognize all the hard work and sacrifices they make every day. Here are some top irritants dispatchers receive but persevere forward:
1. Heading to a call and asking for directions over and over.
2. “Mic clicking” (especially consecutive mic clicks resembling the beat of a Milli Vanilli tune)
3. “Open or stuck mic”
Dispatcher: All units check for a stuck mic and whoever is telling poop stories, please stop as it is coming over the radio”
4. Not knowing the difference between “right” and “left”.
(Dispatcher: make a right at the stop sign
Me: I made a left
Dispatcher: I told you to make a right
Me: but I made a left. Wait, your right or my right)
Thank you for taking care of us! ... See MoreSee Less
