The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office will be closed tomorrow for Good Friday. Road Deputies, as always, will still be out on patrol. Normally, Easter is a pretty calm holiday. However, family gatherings like to birth an occasional domestic dispute. Someone ate the last deviled egg, Uncle Frank didn’t flush the toilet, grandma’s OnlyFan page gets discovered, whatever, you get the point. Just because Jesus flipped tables doesn’t mean you get to also. Let’s keep the arguing to a minimum and enjoy the Easter holiday. ... See MoreSee Less

SYFY channel is rolling Leprechaun movies all day today to get you in the holiday mood. If you have not seen Leprechaun: Back 2 Da Hood you’re missing a cinematic masterpiece. The consumption of green beer and other alcoholic beverages infused with green crap will create intoxicating shenanigans leading to unlucky results. There is no pot of gold in the Western Regional holding cell so let’s make good decisions and have a designated driver for today’s and tonight’s celebratory activities. Also, if you catch a Leprechaun, call the DNR. I believe that falls under their scope of investigation. ... See MoreSee Less

They say there is no honor between thieves. 🦝☎️🚔. Maybe that’s true because listed below are the suspects from the Dec.16 Krogerpalooza shoplifting expedition. Detective Warner had these three amigos identified long ago but like a toy in the bottom of a Captain Crunch cereal box, it took us a little while to uncover their hiding spot. Yea… those are felony charges. Of course, all below are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, but I feel good about our odds.

Hello. A couple of things. First, thank you to Sips-N-Trips in Teays Valley for providing our office a special discount on their yummy “loaded teas” and “dirty sodas” today. They are located by the library if you need a pick me up drink. Secondly, we have received numerous complaints about “fire lane parking” especially in front of the new Wing Stop restaurant. We are directing deputies assigned to that area of patrol to monitor this and provide friendly warnings….at first. We would love to avoid writing citations for this so please park in a proper spot and leave the fire lane open. This seems to be a continual issue at Liberty Square and Kroger. Expect to see us in those areas. Is this the crime of the century…..no. However, people complain and we do our best to address issues. Again, our intial goal is to control this issue with discretionary warnings and friendly banter. If that does not help, citations under WV code 17C-13-3(5) will be issued. ... See MoreSee Less
