Putnam County Planning Commission
2024 Annual Report
Welcome to the Office of Planning & Infrastructure, your go-to authority for managing land use and related regulations in the unincorporated regions of beautiful Putnam County. We take charge of various important ordinances, such as subdivision regulations, building permits (including flood plain regulation), salvage yard permits, and zoning in select parts of the county.
Our dedicated staff also oversees the Dilapidated and Abandoned Enforcement Ordinance, empowering the County Commission to take action on the cleanup and/or demolition of neglected structures in unincorporated areas.
For those in the Zoned Unincorporated Areas of Putnam County, our Zoning Ordinance is your guide. This comprehensive regulation oversees land use and ensures balanced growth in designated planning districts, including the area served by Putnam PSD sewer in Teays Valley and along the proposed US35 corridor.
Whether you’re a homeowner, developer, or concerned citizen, we are here to support and enforce a sustainable and thriving community for everyone. Reach out to us for any assistance or information you may need!
